Since he has been driving the truck it ha not see a hand wash. Maybe 2 or 3 times in past couple of years its gone through a car wash. After months of nagging I got him to wash for his upcoming prom date.
I of course did a lot of the work, but I did make him do a lot and tried to teach him. Sadly he is not much motivated so the teaching is mostly for naught.
Since it was the truck I decided to use a variety of old products I need to use up or get rid off. I am getting low on supplies and promised myself I would use what I got before buying new.
Wash:
Wheels: PB APC 3:1 and Chem Guys soap. Various brushes
Exterior Wolfgang Auto Bathe (great soap!) and shmitts
Polish: RO, orange pad, XMT Intermediate swirl remover 3 (decent stuff but dusts more than I like). I followed the hood with green pad and XMT Finishing glaze with Carnuba. Recommended he do the same on rest of truck but declined.
Topped with Clearcoat liquid moose wax.
Trim coated (applied with foam brush) with PB TR (great stuff!)
Wheel wells finished with Bare Bones and tires with PB BnB.
Interior cleaned with PB APC 10:1 and followed with PB NL.
The headlights where cloudy and have been nagging me for months. I used an orange pad with Megs Plastic cleaner followed by Plastic polish. Happy with results especially given the quick time it took!
Some photos:
Before of dirty and lackluster finish:
Top showing some stains and again dull finish:
Long mark along side. Easily removed with the XMT
Front bumper and you can see the yellowing headlight
Cleaned up bumper:
Boy drying after wash:
Boy with RO and polish:. I kept telling him small section and a time and slow, but ...
Hood with half PB TR:
Completed PB TR and buffed:
Clean headlight
Finished truck:
Top, nice slick reflective finish
