Finally got some pics of the Explorer. Some before and afters.

These befores were taken after a 3000 mile, 2-week road trip from Ann Arbor MI to Los Angeles CA. Look at all that dirt.
 
1) Hundreds of dead bugs met Mr. Pressure Washer

2) Washed with Dawn

3) Clayed with Zaino Z18 claybar

4) Cleaned wheels and tires with EF-HI

5) Cleaned wheelwells with Simple Green (thanks to geekysteve for this tip) :up

6) Polished with 3M Perfect-It III using the PC

7) Cleaned paint with P21S Paintwork Cleanser and PC

8) Washed with Z7 to remove oils left by the polish and paint cleanser

9) Polished headlights and taillights with Zaino Z14 Plastic Polish and Plexus

10) Polished all chrome trim with Wenol

11) 3X Z5/ZFX

12) 300 mile drive around LA in the rain (Son of a…) :mad:

13) Z7 wash/Z6

14) 1X Z2

15) Z16’d the tires and 303’d the trim

16) Cleaned windows with Sprayway glass cleaner
 
Nice Job. :up You are right, it looks good for 146,000 miles. I have seen Explorers with 30,000 miles that look like rolling dumpsters.



Now even though it's a lot of work I would say the results are more than worth the effort.
 
Great job....did you get to do interior??Wenol did a good job on that chrome....How long did it take ... did you have to do multiple

rounds with any product ??? ??

Thanks for the kind words everyone. :D Of course, it wouldn't look half as good without this community and everyone who's a part of it.



Jeff, yes I did the interior. I 303'd the vinyl and plastic and used a 50/50 solution of EF-HI and water to clean the seats and carpets. It came out great, but unfortunately my pics of it didn't. :( I only had to do a second round with the Perfect-It III on the hood to get all the swirls and scratches out. This was all done over the course of two days. The first day was before the rain, the second day was after.
