I just wanna start out by saying how helpful this forum is! I have been a member for a while now and even though I do not post too much, this place has been inspiring and informing in the tough times.

I Just opened my first detailing shop in Gig Harbor, Wa. Its a very nice area that is growing in leaps and bounds. I was lucky enough to find a 1750sq-ft. bay for $1200 a month in a great location! The cost alone is well worth it seeing as other shops of similar sizes are 3k+; However, I am between a Mercedes specialty shop and Gig Harbor's Only Luxury Auto body shop. I am staying plenty busy with just their referrals!

I made the decision to join a BNI group and I feel that it was the right move, but the wrong time, I was already at my limit of owning and operating solo, and now I am pretty overwhelmed. I have been searching through the older threads about hiring employees (awesome resource!) and trying to get some organization going.

Anyway, sorry if this post bounces around a bit. It has taken me 3 days to write in what little free-time I have while I eat. :-P

Congrats & good luck!

If you haven't already pick up a copy of "The E-Myth" by Gerber. It'll help with a framework to grow.

Congratulations on your first shop. We're pretty much neighbors. If you're ever in the area, please feel free to stop by.

Hire employees for the shop and put others in a mobile rig to alleviate some of the fixed locations work load.

I would bring in the complete details to the shop and utilize the mobile unit for maintenance detailing.

Thank you everyone! I have finally caught up with my work. Now I have to clean and get some pictures for you all, hopefully tonight!
