finally got a shop!

so i finally took the step and rented a place. its nothing big. a double car garage, concrete floor with drain, a small waiting room and small office. its on the main road into my town getting on or off the expressway and the same road as about 7 dealerships. i will post pics this weekend. im looking for some help on things i may have over looked, like, what signs do i need around the shop to be osha complient and stuff. i already got my DBA buisness liscense and buisness insurance. im hoping to open this week. i will be in all weekend getting ready. :rockon:rockon
 
Congratulations on the new shop. Check with your insurance company and your state office on their requirements for what you need to have posted. Im sure it varies state to state.

Looks good. I would like to have a shop about that size. If a person isnt planning on production work, you dont need any more than that. Plus it should be efficient to heat, which is a HUGE issue with big shops ($700 per month gas bills arent uncommon in large year-round shops). I wish you the best of luck :)
 
yea tell me about it. i told my wife, lets do blue since the sign will be blue. she said ok...i said dont get baby blue or ford blue and thats what i got :/ its growing on me tho and it does make it a little brighter in their. ill post my sign up let me no what you guys think. it will also be the front of my buisness card.

That is one thing I was always told. Brand everything the same. If someones driving around and is looking at your card it is much easier to find you if they look alike vrs trying to see your address from the road.

Unfortunately a sign won't help on my location. But I have never done walk ins. I would be considered a car wash here and that requires a whole other list of permits, water treatment equipment etc.

bad pics but here is the shop. isnt very pretty but hey, its a garage. it will get there. sorry about the garbage i have to take it to the dump.
