As far as the orange peel goes.. I was told that sanding your basecoat can comprimise the way the clear coat adheres to it. However, when I painted some peices on my tacoma I sanded the primer until it was like silk and there was no texture to it. I used the right temp reducer and very high quality spray gun. I got very minimal orange peel. I think it's impossible to completely eliminate orange peel, and it takes a little wetsanding to get a perfect reflection.
