ok... here's my final decision in order and with the products...

1. Wash- Meg's Deep Crystal Car Wash

2. Clay Bar- Meg's Smooth Surface Clay Kit

3 Scratch Remover- Meg's Scratch X

4. Paint Cleaner- Meg's Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner (#1)

5. Polish- Meg's Deep Crystal System Polish (#2)

6. Wax- Still debating whether to use Meg's NXT or Gold Class. (any other recommendations?)

Anyone have any final tips or suggestions before I do this? (by hand, and it's my 1st time )

Well Since you're doin it by hand this is a good start. For wax I'd use some NXT topped with #26 or another good carnuba. Of course I prefer M21 to NXT but it seems you have all consumer line products. but that sounds like a good set up. good luck. Work in the scratchX with plenty of passion in the areas you need to.

Be prepared to use A LOT of elbow grease. If you are doing the whole car with all products you are going around 6 times if you include wax removal and buff.

Use NXT for LSP. Great looks but not much durability.

I love seeing questions like these. Its one of those that really there probably isnt a true right or wrong choice. Sounds like you put a lot of thought into your final decision. You're doing all of this by hand? Sounds like you took the fun out of the project ;) I say it looks good so go for it! Love to see some before and afters in the click & brag.

yeah its all by hand. Im a little shaky about doing it, because I really dont want to mess up my paint. But I'll definetly put up some pics before/after's. Either way, I think it should go well because I've researched the hell out of it. lol

With those products there is no way you are gonna screw up. They are all very safe by hand.

one more question...Just to double check... do I have to wash my car after each step?

2. Clay Bar- Meg's Smooth Surface Clay Kit

3 Scratch Remover- Meg's Scratch X

4. Paint Cleaner- Meg's Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner (#1)

5. Polish- Meg's Deep Crystal System Polish (#2)

Just to check in and make sure you don't waste your time...

Are you planning to use the scratchX to remove a couple isolated scratches, or are you planning on deswirling a whole car? It would be very near impossible to polish an entire car with scratchX... its useful for treating a couple bird poops, and problems like that.

Also, I started with the exact same products when I got my car because they were available over the counter, but I don't use any of them anymore except for the clay bar. You may want to consider some of the other products raved about on these boards... you may have to order online but it would be a time and money saver in the long run.

dshreter: yes I'm using the scratch x for isolated scratches. I tried it on a scratch the other day, and I had to use a lot of "passion" as they say. I'd have to be crazy to use it on the entire car. lol. Thanks for the advice
