Hey fellow autopians!

I detailed a black 328i today and decided to share with all of you how it went (first detailing client)

I started off by washing with ONR and then claying with Blackfire poly clay (with ONR as lube)

Then I started to compound the car using an orange pad with Megs DA microfiber compound,

I felt with this car I had to work really really really hard to get the swirls out, more then I have had to on my own car and took a LONG time( more then ever) but it came out nice finally)

Then used menzerna SF 4500 and finished with collonite 845

TL;DR

Black 328i

Used:

ONR

Blackfire Poly Clay

Megs DA Microfiber Compound

Menzerna SF4500

Collonite 845

with Portercable

PICS

These are the pictures in this album, check them out

Did I read that you only spent 5 hours on it? In that case, you didn't get the swirls out - they are hidden. As far as Jet black BMW paint, it is in a different league in a bad way. Car looks nice.

Can anybody help and shine some light on maybe why it was so hard to get his swirls out?

So basically if I wanted to get these out. It would take far longer. And perhaps a more abrasive product?
