Ferrari Testarossa 88 ,extreme interior

CosminTX

ProReflection
the car was neglected, got some water too and the result was ....see the before pictures: mold everywhere: doors , dash , seats , trims , everywhere!

all being leather i went with 2 passes of meguiar`s leather cleaner conditioner and a soft brush, the towels i wipe with had some green dirt of them after wipe.

plastic trims got meguiar`s m40 , and some of them optimum protectant.

Main focus was to bring interior in a better shape, and even with that the leather may need some more work.the car is a project and will see some body work too. NO Paint Correction here , was just wash with onr and got some wax s100.

seats and doors has a lot of scuffed in the leather.

sorry guys , no car show here! just some light improvement in interior.

total time 5 hours 1/2

Wow, the interior looks a lot better. I hope you wore a respirator while working on that.

In my book, this is considered an “all or nothing” job. Mold is serious business and I don’t enjoy just simply “cleaning it up” or “improving the condition” because it’s just going to get worse and pose a hazard to whoever is in the car next. But hey, if the customer is happy then I guess we should be happy too. If you don’t completely get rid of all the spores, its just going to keep coming back. You really flew through all that in 5 1/2 hours? It took me a little over 8 hours to take care of a trashed corvette that didn’t have mold and wasn’t in from paint correction.

Just sayin’

looks a lot better than before though..

Good turnaround and again I echo the other comments,"who neglects a Ferrari?". It is amazing to see how primitive the older Ferrari interiors are compared to newer ones.

Mold is bad stuff. In all seriousness it is probably inside the upholstery in the padding and cushions. The carpeting needed to be pulled up and the floor pans needed to be treated. You've got to kill it with a quaternary ammonia.

I hope that you don't get sick from that.

Agree with the others that you've made excellent progress.....Mold, however, is serious stuff as I've seen several home bulldozed because of it. GL

thank you all for comments , i may see the car again and if comes back will get some apc+ and more brush , but because i use leather clener conditioner with brush i think i get that thing out....

i suspect was a leak at the windshield gasket.....

Can you explain to me your deconatamination process? Im curious to how you completely removed the mold? From personal exsperiance Just getting the car clean is not the proper way to tackle a job like this. I have seen several threads on mold removal and its getting me curious. For example the pictures of the cargo area behind the seats. Was this carpet removed? Did you clean the padding? Did you just an APC? I was always taught the you completly have to remove hazardous waste material or it will grow back? What chemical did you use to kill the mold's spores? Please do not take this as I'm bashing you. I'm not. I'm just curious in detail how this job was approached. You did a very good job of cleaning car. I'm just curious if it was decontaminated as well. Thanks in advance for a nice reply .

when i start on the car was in really bad shape , as the pic above.

i remove all the visible and accessible mold with meguiar`s cleaner conditioner (D180) agitated with a brush , and remove all the D180 with a microfiber towel. i did 2 passes on leather.

the mold was obvious remove due the green dirt on towels, but the leather is stained , white dots because was contaminated with mold for a long time.

so either new everything , one more cleaning but with a more agressive brush and some stronger cleaner, clean and dye the leather.

the air ducts wasn`t adress yet :D
