Ferrari F360, Maserati Quattroporte

2004 Ferrari F360 and 2008 Maserati Quattroporte. I had detailed the F360 in September 2010, at the time I also detailed the BMW 750 he had. He since replaced the 7 series with a low mileage used Quattroporte. The detail I had done on the F360 was holding up well, he said he maybe put 250 miles on the car since then so it didn't need much. The Maserati on the other hand, it is his daily driver and he has kids... :nervous2:

As I said, the Ferrari was still in excellent shape, only lightly dusty. No point doing much.

The Maserati was pretty dirty on the outside and lots of debris inside that was tough to vacuum out due to how dense the carpet is. Gives it a very luxurious appearance but it also doesn't want to release anything without a fight.

These shots are after vacuuming:

After using Woolite/water at 20:1 dilution on the leather and vinyl and 3D Carpet Shampoo at 16:1 dilution on the carpet:

The wheels and fenderwells were pretty dirty as well. The wheels were covered in brake dust and the fabric fender liners pick up a lot of road debris and leaves. Great for sound reduction but tougher to clean than plastic fender liners.

After using Optimum Power Clean and ONR and a variety of brushes. Neither the fender liners or tires are dressed, just cleaned.

This half and half shot during the ONR wash shows how dirty the exterior was. But when you drive a car every day, its going to get dirty.

After washing and claying, it was obvious the finish was actually in really good shape. Very minimal swirling/marring, excellent gloss so one polishing step was enough to take it to the next level.

Full process:

ONR wash, Clay Magic blue clay...lots and lots of claying needed!

Optimum Power Clean @ 3:1 dilution/ONR on the wheels and fenderwells

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my Porter Cable 7424 XP

Optimum Opti-Seal to seal the paint

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

Woolite/water at 20:1 dilution to clean the leather and vinyl

3D Carpet Shampoo at 16:1 dilution to clean the carpets

Optimum Protectant Plus to dress the vinyl

Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner to dress the leather

I’m sure by now you heard just about every word of praise possible for the work you do, so I won’t even try. But I do hope you realize what an inspiration you are to most detailers wither they be pro or neophyte.

Great work as always Scott!

I've really been digging the gloss/clarity the new Hyper Polish/MF pad combo gives!

Man Scott, props to you. I don't know how you cleaned those fabric well without a pressure washer. I hate them! lol.

Great work.

Thanks, Tom, Justin and Mike. :)

Justin-had a lot of practice with fabric fender liners, lots of new cars have them now. I do have an M37 coming up that I'll have to power wash, his road was under construction for several months, meaning he was driving on dirt all that time.

Yeah Scott's always been an inspiration. I had a coworker showed me his work one day. A month later I quit my job and started Clean4U!

Nice work as usual, Scott. If I were your customer I think I'd haul the kids around in the trunk until they learned to keep their feet on the floor.
