Ferrari 512TR - G35Stilez and Detailing Technology

Just a preview.

Did another with Sean today. More to follow.

Sean is a better photographer. After 177 pics I may as well throw the SD card out...

Carrera GT coming up soon also.

why did you use different lighting for each pic? before looks to be with flash...after looks to be jsut an overhead light. cant really tell 100% the correction done without a consistent halogen lighting or camera flash!

it does look to be a huge difference tho....just saying you are taking away from it without 100% revealing the paint condition in the after pic!

I'd hire a photographer if it were worth it. Pictures just aren't my thing.

I have a Nikon D40, Nikon D90, and a Panasonic TZ-5. All of my shots are sub-par.

Sean's shots should be much better.

full shot of car looks great. heck.....to fork out the money for the high dollar nikons....pictures arent your thing? must have money to bloooow!

Thanks Pat.

We had only 6 hours, so just the exterior and engine could be done today. I'll pass by after work one night this week for the interior.

We hit it with Meguiars M105 (original diminishing formula) then Menzerna 85 via Makita rotary.

No clay was needed.

Washing was minimal.

Factory wheels are going back on tomorrow.

There is a custom hand-made Capristo exhaust in there that needed quite a bit of hand polishing. The exhaust is a work of art, and sounds to match.

LSP was Swissvax Concorso. I still have two left and want to use it up. Fortunately, the owner prefers carnauba waxes for his collectibles.

We both have been spending a lot of time with Glasurit's Rosso Corsa lately. I think we have it dialed in. The garage floor looks like a crime scene when you are finished polishing. We both commented on the difference between polishing it on a Carbon Kevlar substrate vs sheet metal. Carbon Kevlar is a dream to work with.

this guy doesn't need lighting to prove his work, do a search for his previous posts and you'll understand:buffing:

Looks very nice!

I was not aware that M105 was ever a diminishing abrasive?

I'm thinking it's vice versa.

Wasnt that that the difference of the "old" formula that was rotary specific?

The "new" M105 was made with non-diminishing abrasives that woked better with the D/A.

When I think of a Ferrari, this is the one that pops into mind... nice work, Justin! I've got a 348 coming one of these days with similar PITA side flares :doh Can't really do a whole lot with those though...

I'm pretty sure that they are both ND abrasives. The DA formula has more "lube" in it for longer working time. The DA also has less cut.

Thanks Jesse. Hand polishing only! This owner has a 355 also - 348 doors with no cheese graters..

Ah! I thought the new "SMAT" maintained their original size during use. Now its not as interesting to use. For me, its understanding what the product does and the final result. Now I need to read more about the new and old forulas, I thought I had them down. - New formula stayed the same size, old formula would degrade with use.

Thanks for putting these up, Justin. I'll get to my sets of pics these week and get them posted.

Thanks Sean.

We just met with the baby photographer and she lives in Katonah. She agreed to come meet me for a lesson when I go back this week.

Annie Leibovitz is no challenge...

Justin,
