Fein sander.

Im curious how it would be for a final polish. I know it runs back and forth. I think it would be intriguing to try. If you could completely eliminate the random and circular movement and go back and forth it would ensure a completely hologram swirl free finish. I was just curious.. Looks like an interesting tool.

I tried it with polish and orange foam pads because wool wouldn't do anything. Of course, I had to cut the foam myself and I was really looking forward to using it in those tight places where a small polisher wouldn't reach and, like you, to get a hologram free finish.

I couldn't get it to work, but I'm willing to send it you with all the attachments I have so you can try it. One of the major problems is that the velcro backing plates are metal and the velcro comes off. Over all, it's a lot of money for something that doesn't get the job done when it comes to polishing.

On the other hand, it's done everything it was designed to do very well. I've cut grout out of tiles, cut ceramic tiles, sawed wood in tight places, etc. and it's been great for that. The carbide bit that comes with it cleans foam pads like nothing else I've tried.

Thanks Robert, I think Ill pass on this one then. I also found a makita right angle drill like that hitachti you carry. Thanks for the input. How is there shop vac John?

I also have had several of the Fein shop vacs. They are very good, strong and quiet. I suggest getting the ones with the smallest tanks and biggest motors because they move the same amount of air as the big ones and develop maximum lift faster, due to the smaller tank.

The Metro Vac I just bought is also very good but like I mentioned can't be used to vacuum up water. It's just a powerful, actually more lift, and smaller so it fits in my rig better.

If you get the Fein vacuum, I'd suggest you get the cloth bag. Maybe a couple, so you can clean one and while it's drying use the other. The Fein 9-20-24 Turbo I 6-Gallon Wet/Dry will run $300 dollars but you'll be happy with it for many many years.
