FedEx fails again

FedEx failed to pick up two business days in a row...:angry

I guess I"m calling DHL tomorrow to see what they have to offer

or I'm going back to the lousy UPS service, but at least they show up:nono

Sorry if any orders have been delayed:dunno

That sucks! And I thought they were better! :(

DHL / Airborne is good fast and cheaper too. They shipped one package of ours to the wrong address but that was do to the boob typing it in wrong at Office Max.

DHL can never find my house! Fed EX tries once or twice, and then calls and makes me drive 30 miles to pick up the package.

I've always liked FedEx the best. UPS isn't very consistent (I never know where they're going to leave my packages), but at least their warehouse sites are usually convenient. I don't have much experience with DHL, but I had quite a few problems with the old Airborne.

I drop my packages off at the Fed Ex terminal at the airport. The nice lady at the counter didn't say that today was a holiday. I've actually dropped packages off at the ground terminal itself at 8:45 pm just so they could ship that day. No complaints from customers yet.

Hmmm. Looks like today is still considered to be a holiday for FedEx Home Delivery -

2004 FedEx Holiday Schedule

Which branch of FedEx is supposed to be doing the pickup?

There is still ground pick-up today. They just aren't delivering packages to residential addresses today. Home Delivery is only good on Tues-Sat, so they just moved thier holiday back one day.

UPS screwed up one of my orders but responded well. Too bad the package finally came back 1 month later. Fedex has worked fine, but I keep hearing bad remarks. I think USPS hasn't let me down yet. I will keep using em. DHL seems a little new and weird. :dunno

my dad is a snap-on tools dealer, so hes always sending and recieving many packages, and he uses UPS all the time. we know the UPS guy in person already and stuff, and my dog actually likes the UPS man better than she likes my mom... its been good for the last couple decades or so, very reliable. if it had not been relible at any point, my dad probably would have changed...

as for DHL, sometimes i see their ghetto trucks going around... what bothers me about DHL is that it looks almost exactly like that 7UP commercial and the "DNL"......

As for DHL/Airborne Express...thats Target Corporation's official package handler. So...take that as you will.

FedEX has always been my favorite package company. No one is as consistent and it just seems they are faster.

My mail Lady wont even get out of her vehicle to walk my pakages to my door, which is only about 50 ft away. Instead she puts then in a bag and hangs it from the mailbox at the street for any schmuck to grab. Plus, she had done this several times after I have complained to her supervisor about placing my packages in a secure location. Dont go USPS.

I have been a traffic manager for over 20 yrs.
All the carriers that you mentioned
UPS
FEDEX
DHL (not new not wierd, mostly international)
Are excellent carriers, but they are designed for commercial deliveries(they HATE home deliveries, even an upcharge for home deliveries)

If at all possible have deliveries go to a business address (please note I did say IF possible)
Just my $.02

I used USPS for a while, but was getting killed on shipping charges. They don't offer tracking, only confirmation that a package was delivered. They are fast hough. Packages from NY to Cali take 2 days. Once you start shippng coast to coast and see package weight increase, you start seeing $$$ for postage.

Fed Ex has been good and consistant for me. A package shipped on a Wednesday hits California on Saturday. Not too bad at all. I have recieved any reports of damaged packages either. I still run my orders to Fed Ex myself (it gets me out of the office at lunch), so I haven't has to worry about pick-up.

I think its safe to say that the acutal companies are not the problem. Your experiences are reflections of your local branches and delivery folks. Steve, I'd say try DHL as well and see how they handle your business. Did you call the Fed-Ex supervisor and express your concerns first? In my experience DHL/Airborne and UPS have been good (my UPS packages have oftene been crunched some), however I have to give a big-ups to Fed-Ex. They saved my marriage!!!

Shipping

As much as I did not like UPS, they are now not only doing our shipping, but our logistics as well and they do that very well.

FedEx used to be best for "P1" packages, now they changed their delivery times.

UPS get's to my office always in the AM and gound arrives later in the day.

Deanski
