Febreze "AUTO"

Today i went to AutoZone to get my glass cleaners and try out some interior fresheners and soaps.

I came across one bottle left of the Febreze "AUTO".

I am a person that uses Febreze in my home as well as oust (due to different scents they offer) But I was verry happy with this Febreze product. Even though its a very thick spray and not a "Mist" it does not create liquid spots and as far as the smell goes its the same old original scent just taken down a tad. after spraying then vacuuming the scent still held strong and just had to do a few more mists here and therer.

Anyone else swear by this product? Even though its my first time using it in my vehicles I will deffinitly be sure to pick up another bottle once I get low.

Honestly, the scent is personal preference. I used it on my hockey equipment, my carpet at home, and in my garage. EVEN ON MY CEREAL! (hah you get the point..i use it everywhere)

After about 4 hours the scent was still there. I'll be sure to check back in with you guys and let you know how LONG one spray around the vehicle lasts. I'll just try not to smoke in my truck hah.

Cheers.

I have some that I've used on occasion, but I do find it leaves spots on leather... to be honest I don't think its any different from the home version.

Very true about it possibly being the same as the home version. Only thing I noticed was that it wasn't as potent.

When you say it leaves spots on leather....Is that with a direct shot to the leather? Are you using a rag? *Spraying it on the rag then wiping it on the leather?* I would never do a direct shoot onto leather. either use wipes or spray it on a rag after a cleaning. But to each his own.

Thanks for the input.

I use it and I think it works well, I don't think theres too much difference from the auto and regular versions.

OoOo another frontier owner. fantastic! Are you on ClubFrontier.org?

Most deodorizing type of product will state on it to not spray on leather. It's a fabric deodorizer/neutralizer after all.

I love the smell of Febreze, but it's much cheaper to just buy a half gallon from Sam's Club or Target.

I have Duragloss' Odor Absorber also and both have different but really pleasing scents. I think Febreze might appeal to more people though. I like to switch between the 2.

I remembered when Febreze first came into the market and IMO, a big reason for its success is its unique scent. I never thought much about it's odor neutralizing capabilities.

Febreze smells ok. Remember that it is an encapsulating product. Therefore unless your car is clean to start with, it might take a few tries to remove any smell. The 7 day test, is just that, spray it for a week or two and it might remove the odor.

Better way is to remove an odor as best as possible and then use this type of product.

If it has stained your leather, try diluting Febreze with water and wiping with a MF.

When I say it spots leather I mean if you get it on there... If you're spraying it on the headliner for example or near leather... it whipes off but will require you to use a leather cleaner in some cases as it seems to leave a dull spot.

Obviously, b/c I'm not brain damaged, I know its for fabric and not leather. :duh:

I find no difference between the regular & so called auto Febreze. Just be a little cautious about the amount. What I like to do is spray some in the vennts so that when you turn on the air there is a continual nice smell.

I was recently looking for auto Febreze to freshen up my daughters new ('99) Saab. I found some at Advanced Auto but didn't like the smell but for 1/2 the price and about twice the volume they had their own brand. I liked the smell too.

After a couple of days the scent changed to a not-unpleasant tobacco scent (NOT smoke) and then that eventually faded.

It doesn't work too well when you are trying to get rid of horrible odors. My brother threw up in his car. Febreze Auto or Home didn't work. I had to clean the carpet a couple times then and odor absorber and that worked.

Febreze Anti-microbial :xyxthumbs

That is it! That stuff works great! I am really allergic to cats and my wife's brother and his wife have a baby that we baby sit on occasion. I stopped going to their house because the two cats they have drive me nuts. I would get itchy throat, watery eyes, and could hardly breath. The last time she calls and said that she sprayed the house with the Frebreze Anti Microbial and I swear it worked great! Not one allergic symptom!

I really want to try this febreze stuff out, but I cant find it in any stores. Where do you guys buy this?

And I dont want to buy it online because it costs more to ship it than the actual stuff is to buy.

I tried febreeze and other products for smoke odor and the febreeze was probably the worst. It wasn't the "auto" though, but it's probably the same ingredient. Ozium was much better and much longer lasting. I still use it. I just give a quick shot inside and close the door. Next morning there's no smell at all.

I tried about 4 different products in all. Ozium was the best of those by far.

But the best thing for odors directly on a fabric surface believe it or not is alcohol! Just put some 50/50 mix of alcohol (or stronger if it's a colorfast surface) in a spray bottle and mist it. The smell will be dissolved and won't ever return unless you "re-infect" the surface.

I tried all these things when I started smoking again and didn't want the misses to smell it on my coat. :) She's got a nose like a bloodhound. I used alcohol on the coat and Ozuim in the car and it worked beautifully . :xyxthumbs

I've used this before and actually like the home version smell more than the auto. Just personal preference but I did not see a greater effect using the auto version.
