Setec Astronomy: I don't think the customers of that guy are expecting him to remove their swirls...they are just expecting clean swirls...

Automatic car washes are like hookers -- do you really know who was there last?

If we are talking about things customers say...

How about the obgliatory guy at the car show with his yellow microfiber (tag still attached) drying wiping the dirt off the paint, "I don't let anybody touch this...."

And you wonder why it looks so bad :p)

If I had a quarter for every time I've heard that... I find it hard to resist the urge to try to "educate" them. I now carry photos of my work with me when I go to car shows. I enjoy stepping away afterward and watching them from a distance as they :inspector: their paint without the rose colored glasses.:lmfao :rockon

i am the same way. every time i want to say something i go over it in my head so i try not to offend them but educate them but no matter how i say it in my head i always sound like a A-hole



cant remember who said this but it was in a post about the $75 craigslist detailers the quote was " i dont compete with thier prices and they dont compete with my quality"

I like that one.

My father does upholstery for a living and I always have to walk away from him at car shows. He will see a bad job and make comments. His hearing isn't great so he talks pretty loud. I was at a car show the other day and saw a guy with a Trail Blazer SS and he was so proud of it. It had holograms and swirls all over it. I felt bad to the guy but I didn't know how to approach him to offer some detail work

If your'e looking for work...I'd walk over to him when he wasn't busy and say "Hi my name is...from XYZ detailing." Then gently I'd begin discussing polish paint. You may find that he's very happy to meet you. A GOOD detailer is a rare breed.
