Failing Clearcoat 15 minute fix

Here is my black 96 Bronco Sport I posted about a few days ago. Here is the clearcoat on the tailgate that failed. It would have turned out much better IF i had touch up paint.... but I gave it a shot because I couldn't look at it anymore. 15 minute turn around

Wait a month and then get more pictures. It looks a lot better now, but I think that it'll just go back to the way it was if not worse in the future.

what exactly is happening with my paint. I said the clearcoat failed but i dont really know what the heck it is or what caused it.
 
You might not have any clear left on that area at all now. What sort of car is it and where was that happening? Sort of looks like failing clear to me as well.
 
I know Ford had several paint issues with their paint on the broncos. My dad's 89 and 92 were both repainted under warranty. The 92 was actually stripped to bare metal and repainted. I don't know if the had the same issues up to 96, but ya never know!
