Fabric from a Meguirs Super Plush Towel

I purchased some meguiars Ultra Plush Super Terry towels and used them the other day to dry off my truck and the towels left behind white fibers from the towel. Should I wash these towels to get rid of the loose fiber? And if so, what should I use for detergent and what setting on the washing machine??

Use any detergent that doesn't have fabric softener. I would use the delicate cycle, with cold or medium temperature. Yes, you usually do have to wash terry towels at least once to get the lint out.

after a few washes, the majority of the lint should be gone. as for washing, since you just used it to dry a truck, warm or cold is fine, normal or delicate will do. if you use any of those towels to remove a wax or sealant, run it on hot...warm or cold water wont break the wax down as well, and you'll be left with residue. towels/microfiber/applicator pads can all be washed in hot, on normal cycle, just make sure not to use fabric softener as it coats the towel with (silicone?). a good liquid detergent will do, i just picked up some tide-cold wash and it seems to yield very good results. i also find that the extra rinse option will get out little bits of dirt and whatnot that have lodged themselves in the towel/microfiber.

if you choose to wash pads, thats a different story. however, i manage to wash all pads except my polishing pad on cold. i hand wash the polishing pad since the heat from the washer could affect the velcro.
