F***.....my Porter Cable 7424 won't turn on!!

Damn, I was just about to turn on my Porter Cable 7424 to polish my car and that damn thing won't turn on. This is a brand new machine that I just got from Amazon.com. Does anyone know what might be wrong with it? I would hate to have to send it back to amazon cause I want to do my detailing today. Help Please somebody!!!
 
Might try wiggling where the power cord goes in. Not a real fix but might give you an idea whats wrong. Not sure how hard it is to open one up.



Silly question, but is the power outlet ok?
 
I think someone else mentioned this about the PC's bought from Amazon in a fairly recent thread..seems to be common.
 
Yea my cord I had to replace the male plug at one time and right now I have to replace where the cord goes into the unit and that I will just replace the whole cord by buying a new cord and doing my self. I'm going to buy a 15' cord.

Another good reason not to buy anything from Amazon...were these units at a cut-rate price?

Well....I got it for 108 after using a coupon at amazon.com. Not bad but then this crap happens. O well! I will get a replacement some time this week........so they say. The good thing is that they don't wait till they receive the item before they ship the replacement out to you.



Things are just getting worse for me....someone hit my back bumper and left a pretty large gash. It went right through the paint at a few places but luckily there was no dents. Looks like I got no choice but to do wetsanding at this point. I hope all goes well! Freaken drivers these days..............have no respect for other peoples vehicles!! M** F'ers! Excuse my language.
 
I got mine from Amazon and have not had any problems with it and the end of the cord even melted from an extension cord fire. LOL Are you sure the outlets you are plugging it into are not tripped GFI or mayber tripped breaker?

Ya I'm sure. I've tried many different outlets.



I got a replacement from amazon and everything works now. Nice little toy to have especially for all car fans out there.
