Detailers with hot water extractors. If using soap in your extractor have you had any problems? How long have you been using soap in your extractor? What products are you using? Are you using a defoamer mixed with your soap or putting the defoamer on the carpet directly?Any and all info or suggestions would be appreciated. I have a century 400 sensei.

:help: Thanks in advance

I have not had my Sensei long enough to comment on long term durability. I use Hi-Temp's Premium Carpet and Upholstery Shampoo and Top of the Line's Rug Renew in my machine. I think as long as you follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule of rinsing with clean water, and running vinegar through the machine, it should be fine. Like I said, I have not had mine that long. I have had Century 400's spotter for over two years, and have had zero problems with that unit. Another issue is hard water which can leave scale in extractors.

I have used some detergents in them, but always used a defoamer. I now use only the hottest water and don't use any detergents in them. I prespray cleaners directly to carpet and then agitate- let sit, and then rinse. Even with the lift I have on my Timbuktu, I don't like any soaps in the machine.
