Exterior Black plastic trim?

What is the best OTC product to clean and remove wax, keep it black looking? I tried some old Meguiars vinyl and rubber cleaner that ran the first time it rained. Thanks!

does Trim Restore run if it rains? I use Black Again, an OTC but it works great while its dry.

I like to keep the windshied wiper trim and window trim black. Really sticks out like a sore thumb if its not dressed.

Meg's Endurance Tire gel is probably your best OTC option, but it won't hold a candle to the trim dressings that the Chemical Guys put out. Either the new gel or the Liquid Extreme Shine (similar to Poorboys TR) go on easier, last longer, and look better than anything you're gonna find in a store.

Avoid Back to Black like the plague, it works well on new trim but doesn't do much for trashed/old trim. It streaks in the rain too and generally doesn't last that long, since its a water-based dressing.

Not OTC, but anyhow...I usually use the Klasse twins on black plastic trim (not rubber but plastic). On surfaces where that's not the solution I use Autoglym's Bumper Care. As best I can tell, it has some very light abrasives that help remove wax/etc. If you buff on the excess after a short dwell time, it doesn't run much (if any) in the rain. Doesn't last forever, but none of the other dressings I've used last much longer. You don't hear about the Bumper Care much here at Autopia, but I can't recall anybody being dissatisfied with it.

On the Endurance- I had an old bottle of it sitting around so I used it on my mechanic's loaner car's tires, this was back in March. I just returned the car (late July) and the tires were *still* looking OK. Pretty amazing durability, almost made it worth the hassle of applying the stuff (but I'm sticking with my Z16).

CG Extreme Liquid Shine is by FAR the best at restoring odl trim, has worked wonders when everything else has fallen short. Blows away the PB Trim. If the Extreme Liquid Shine doesn't do it, nothing will.

I have to second the comments about the Meg's Endurance Gel... AMAZING otc quality. DEFINAETLY better than Back to Black by far in my experience. Goes on so easy and has pretty good durability... especially on tires like it was made for!
