Just my little rant. I guess in time, I'll eventually get the hang of *enough product* vs. more. As I use products, I'm always keeping in mind *thin coats* and while it may seem thin or enough for coverage for me, I know I'm always being a bit excessive. I just opened up the NXT bottle as I used it the other day and I think I used about 3 oz for just one coat.....the liquid is currently up to the top edge of the letters of *NXT* on the bottle.

I found NXT to be difficult to apply thin because the pad stayed fairly dry during the whole application. That along with the fact I've only used it on a light colored vehicle was a challenge.

Since NXT is suppose to bond to just about everything I may try spritzing the pad with FD, or may dampen the pad with NXT spray wax next time.

Same as if I was to polish a car. Prime the pad (in my case it was the blue Viking foam applicator) put some product on the pad and then dab with the pad in 3 spots in the 2X2 area that I will be working the product it.

I checked the NXT bottle because as I was cleaning the applicator, I noticed there was Quite a Bit of product coming out of the applicator every time I squeezed the pad, etc while rinsing and cleaning the pad.

Sometimes the pads soak up product to the extent that what you're describing above doesn't necessarily mean that you're using too much product ON YOUR CAR. [sorry, poorly worded, that]

Maybe try squeezing the pad (as if you were washing it) instead of reaching for the bottle of product every time.

And if it seems thin enough when you're removing it from your paint, you're probably doing OK. "Wasting" product (which *I* don't sweat) is sometmes different from putting too much on the finish.

Maybe try switching to one of those round yellow pads that seem so common. If you want to squeeze it as Accumulator suggested these would probably squeeze better anyway... Maybe it will soak up less product too, but if NXT is somewhat runny there might be little you can do about it.

(Oh, by the way, I also deleted your duplicate post jsoto. :up)
