EX-P'd Windshield: Hazy During Rain ???

HondaMan

2004 Civic EX magnesium
My cousin and I each EX-P'd our windshields and glass....my 2004 Honda seems fine; didn't detect any hazyness during rain, may have sheeted or beaded a bit more but nothing notiecable.

My cousin's 1993 Subaru Legacy had an old winshield and wipers so I thought it might make more of an improvement on his car. But he tells me that during rain, the windshield is hazy and a bit cloudy. He does NOT see this when it's not raining, which to me is weird. But at night, in rain, he says it's noticeably tougher to see.

Anyone else experience problems EX-P'ing or using sealants on windshields? To me, it's strange that the cloudiness isn't there during dry times.

The problem is the product is not off completly...Tell him to clean the windsheild with a vinegar water mix and some old newspaper - that should get everything off.

not mine either:dunno ..maybe he didn't let his dry enough before removing or it was not completely clean before sealing it with EX-P ..

We let it sit a few hours.....didn't notice any product still left on the window. Like I said, we did mine also in the dark and got most of that off A-OK.

Might try cleaning the wiper blades. Here are a couple of pictures that demonstrate the issue. The blades are also old and need replacing - that's the streaking. The "haze" though is from dirt. I just happend to be driving my wife's car with RejeX on the windsheild and dirty wipers. So I cleaned one wiper blade with alcohol on paper towel and pulled back out into the rain for a quick test.

Drivers or left side in the first photo from inside the car is the cleaned side. Right side is the cleaned side in the second photo taken from outside the car.
