Everyone! Looks here! Amazing transformation of a mid 60's Mustang!

Octane Guy-glad to see you over here now. I had hoped linking your thread would make you wonder how you got over 1400 hits on your thread in a day and bring you around. :)

...of course, linking it on another site (the 5th largest board according to BigBoards.com-would be number one if the main forum wasn't dumped every 48 hours) brought a ton of traffic too. You have a lot of new admirers!

Your expertise is very welcome at Autopia!

Thank you ScottWax. Yes I was impressed by the sudden surge of interest! Thanks for helping out with my "5 minutes of fame"! =)

In just the past day, I've had numerous discussions with all kinds of people. Most of the discussions have been wonderful, one in particular was kind of heated, though I did keep my cool, despite the posters little attacks on me. I posted the details on my thread over at MOL just for kicks.

I plan to hang out here a lot more now. Thanks!!!

Richard

GSRstilez,

Have a close look at this picture.

Look at the very bottom edge of the picture on the ridge at the center of the hood. See the "burn"? I didn't notice this when I was restoring the paint, and while I was ultra careful, I didn't tape off the highpoints on this car, and well, I thought I did this, and for 30 minutes I was cussing at myself. I even told the customer that I "thought" I did that and was truly sorry. He just shrugged his shoulders and didn't care.

Later that night I was going over my pictures and I found this picture which I took the first night I inspected the car before I worked on it. See that white spot in the same location?? I was vindicated!!! It was a preexisting defect that I didn't notice.

Anyhow, I now tape off all edges for safety--as I did with this Mustang. You can never be TOO careful!

Richard
