Eurow Sheepskin wash mitt

Anyone use this? I got mine from Walmart. I think Pakshak sells it too. It does a good job of cleaning. Then overtime I think the insides get real soft to the point where you can rip it apart. When I was washing I made a hole on the side of the mitt near the seams and it just got bigger and bigger as I used it. Maybe it was from a bad batch? Anyone ever have an experience like this with this mitt?

How long have you had it? I wash mine in the washing machine and dry them inside out in the dryer. That said, they are natural products and I doubt all wear uniformly. Some might wear faster than others.

I've had mine for maybe 4 months. Didn't use it frequently though. I'll only wash my truck in nice weather since I don't have a garage. Its been snowing in NJ like every week so I don't get to wash as much. After I use the mitt, I'll soak it in a bucket of detergent and leave it there. I think I left it in there too long(several days) and it probably weakened the mitt.

That's likely the cause. I wash mine in the washing machine promptly after use.

most of the time i rinse my mitts out with the hose and hang them on the lip of the bucket-that won't mess up a wool mitt will it? being damp for days at a time

Well, I guess there could be a chance of mold starting to grow on the inside of the mitt. I'd stick to the machine washing and drying.

I noticed when I saw the inside of the mitt it was a little green. Guess I should throw it in the dryer next time instead of line drying it.

Just toss them in the washer and dryer on gentle cycles. Allowing them to stay wet will eventually lead to the hides rotting, and the hair coming off in clumps.

This is recommended by the manufacturer.....

Washing in the washer and drying in the dryer isnt, but if its working for you guys, more power to ya !!

I just orderd some of these Eurow mitts from Pakshak. Seems quite unnecessary to wash them in the machine and dryer everytime you use them. Won't that wear them out faster?

I haven't had any wear out yet. Naturally they may eventually need to be reserved for wheel duty only though.

Well, I picked one of the Eurow mitts (after going through a half dozen on the shelf). After using it a couple of times, I think the SM Arnold or Meguiar's Sheepskin mitt is superior.

Just my opinion.

I can get the Meguiar's mitt locally, but others may not be able to find them. The Arnold mitt and Meguiar's mitt seem to be VERY similar.

Even if I couldn't get them locally, I would order them online, as I feel they are better/safer and more consistent. I don't take chances with mitts, or any of my detailing tools.

I followed the recommended way and my mitts fell apart after 5 or 6 washes. I read a thread on Autopia about drying the mitts in the dryer so I tried it. I am still using the same two mitts since about September. Twice a week they get used and are in excellent condition. Did anybody ever think that the manufacturer suggests to not dry in a dryer or wash in a machine because they want your mitt to wear out faster? Why would they recommend a way that would get you a year out of your mitts? Just look at the instructions on most products. They always recommend to use more than you really need. They don't want what is best for you. They want you to spend more money.

YOu can get these mitts from Walmart, well at least my Walmart carries them, I haven't had a chance to compare them to the Baja Sol ones from Target yet.

FYI: They were $5 from Wally world.

Yes, this is my logic as well. But that's why I purchase them locally. For like a natural product that sheepskin is, I need to evaluate it in person first before purchasing. That's how the "pick them like fruit" regimen came to be :D
