EO A2Z & Meg's Hot Rims pic comparision

Since I did my A2Z test at little wrong a couple months ago (not sure I posted about it here), I decided to try a A2Z vs Meguiar's Hot Rims test this time, again on Mom's car.. and I followed the directions! (I think ;) )

Both wheels I played with were on the front. The car had not been washed in at least a month, probably longer. Mom has driven from Indiana to Maryland and Indiana to Kentucky during this time, and the car was just sitting outside at the airport for a week. I think I put EX-P on the wheels in mid-July.

No brush agitation was done with either wheel.. just sprayed on and rinsed off. Didn't want to have to track down two brushes that were exactly the same (to avoid cross contamination) and make sure that I did the same amount of agitation on both. Both cleaned up just fine afterwards with a brush and car wash soap.

I'll just leave the final pictures displayed, and link the rest...

Getting started with Hot Rims.. I dropped the bottle and cracked the sprayer, so I had to put a new sprayer on it.

Hot Rim wheel sprayed down with water.. I believe the directions say to use it on a wet wheel.

I'd say that the Eagle One A2Z did a better job at cleaning. Looks like more crap was left on the Hot Rims wheel. May have something to do w/ the Hot Rims being sprayed on a wet wheel :nixweiss Since they are similarlly priced, I'll keep using A2Z

Like I said, a brush and car wash soap cleaned the rest of the stuff off, so the wheels probably weren't all THAT bad to begin with.

I havent found a non-acid based cleaner that you did not have to brush like crazy to get anything but fresh brake dust off. TOL Wheel Wash is good and I hear the new Poorboys cleaner is great.

I use A2Z it tends to soften up the brake dust a whole lot but you still have to brush.

I tried A2Z for the first time yesterday , I must say it worked pretty good . My wheels have baked on caked on brake dust that needs scubbing . It cut most of it but I really need to take these wheels off and clean them good.

I compared AZ2, and Hot Rims to a sample of Poorboy's Spray & Rinse, and the Spray & Rinse won hands down. Still, I would go over the wheels with a good car wash, a wash mitt and wheel brush(s) to get that fine film of dirt that no wheel cleaner seems to remove. However, the S & R is great for getting most of the real nasty stuff off first! :bigups
