Envious Detailing: Black Range Rover restored

I get the call to come see if I can get some scratches out and if I can, then we would go over the whole car with a two step process! So, I cruise over an hour away to see whats up with the scratches and how deep, etc. I take some 105 on a 4" orange pad by hand and its about 75 % removed with 3 passes, so I knew it would be easily removed with a rotary and PFW/105.

After I knocked out that scratch, I went around the rest of the car and tackled some other easily removed scratches I saw. There were just a couple where you could tell it was deep, so I just blended as much as possible.

After that, I ended up with a PC/orange/105 around the whole car, then white pad and 85rd as 205 was leaving too much micromarring behind of its own on a megs yellow pad. The white pad removed the orange pad haze while the polish restored the gloss!

Before I removed the BFWD, I applied megs hyper dressing to the tires and all the trim. this really set off the car! I then applied chemical guys bare bones to the wheel wells and proceeded to wipe off the BFWD from the paint!

I simply can't believe that someone would seriously have rims that are valued at over $1,000 ea. and allow them to look that way along with their $75,000 SUV.

Nice work Eric.

1000 each, damn, you would be surprised if I took a pic of the condition of them! they need a complete restore, not just a polishing!

Nice job, I'm surprised to hear you getting micro marring with 205 and a white pad with the PC.

At least you got that paint back up to speed, it looks great.

Man, you always do such F'd up cars! I hope you get lucky once in a while with some easy ones? This one came out great! I take it the paint was soft if M205/White was marring? Nothing like 85rd for final finishing.

yup good old trusty 85rd. Eric, yeah man Asanti rims are by no means cheap! They usually run a lot more then that. Closer to like $6,000-$10,000 a set.

Bad *** rims though if you ball'n because you can get them with a 8" Lip, custom colors all kinds of stuff man.

LOL, thanks for noticing! Seems like people always think I am crazy for spending 10+ hours on the exterior alone! - detailers and clients alike! but when the end results are in, the clients understand why!

I have a barabus T655 to do tomorrow, unless he is giving me a different car...its pretty jacked up!

that's what make these write ups so fun to watch. Transformations are always amazing :)! I have couple rovers that are also in those conditions, wasn't sure if I could finish it in a day. Did you switch over to KBM with pc/105?
