Engine Compartment detail

What's the method of choice for adding a little gloss to the engine compartment.
I've rubbed on tire treatment for years but of course that washes away.

I need to take my "game" up a notch.

I purchased a used vehicle 4 months ago and what ever they used is still looking good.

What's recommended.

They probably used a silicone based product instead of a water based product.

I've got some engine detailing tips in my OCDetailing guide if you want to look there. The best product I've ever used to bring back that factory shine is CD2 Engine Detailer. AutoZone carries it fairly regularly now. Try looking there.
