Emergency Detail

A friend called me last night at 7 asking if I could detail a car for him. I said sure, When? "Can you have it back to me by tomorrow? It turns out that this was the groom's car who was married Sat afternoon. My friend had spent several hours trying to remove the "decorations" from the cars paint, windows and trim to no avail. Hey, atleast the car was washed before he brought it over. This is my second experience with OCP and OCW, great stuff!

The only real problem that I had was trying to get the window chalk residue off the old craked trim as you will see.

Looks like he used steel wool to remove the "decorations".

Beautiful work! I doubt he noticed the trim at all.

If someone does that to my car when I get married they will not make it to see the reception, I guarantee it. :)

Excellent work!

I have yet to figure out what possesses people to do that stuff to their cars in the first place. One of my customer's wife wrote all over the glass of their 2 week old Tahoe and then tried to remove it later at a coin-op wash. All it did was blast all that crap onto the paint and trim. Took quite a while to get it off the paint and there is some stuff on the trim and textured plastic I have not been able to remove 18 months later!

Try a mr. clean magic eraser on the trim. I used it to day on marred trim and it looks better than ever. Obviously it has a matte/subdued finish but it looks like new.

Thanks, I tried a MR Clean eraser and a stiff toothbrush. It is permanent. On the wondow chalk bottle it says not to let the stuff get on the paint. Well they used it all over the paint not just the windows. I used a PC at speed 5 with one of 3 pads, yellow for the deep stuff, orange for the moderate stuff, and a white for the rest. Love this optimum polish, I will be ordering some compound to try out soon.

I have never tried a trim dye. I am going to try one more solvent based cleaner this sunday when I see the car again. I just bothers me that I could not get the trim as good as the paint.

Great job!

I would be sick if I came back from my honeymoon to see my car destroyed--but would be quite happy to it in its 'After' state!!

Itake one great console in the fact that I returned it in much better condition that it was in before the mayhem of the wedding.
