Eibach Prokit +Bilstein Sports on my BMW

My 2001 325i has the sports package. The rear shock mounts were shot and I could tell the shocks were not doing to well at 56k miles. I picked up a set of Bilstein sport shocks, Eibach prokit springs, new rear shock mounts and did the install myself. WOW :woot2: what an improvement. The car just sticks and is much crisper in the steering feel. No more floatly wishy washy feeling in turns. The shocks were dead, if I pushed both font struts down, only one would reboud slighly, they other was dead.

Anyone thinking of upgrading suspension should not hesitate like I did. I thought the ride would be harsh or it would clunk. It is firmer, but more solid and feels right.

It's been about a month and I have not taken a picture yet. It's lower by about a half inch, looks good too. I 'll post some after my wash tomorrow.

Gotta post some pics. I hope to change my springs and stuts soon too. I'm thinking of some Koni yellows and Tanabe GF's for my MR2.

Yea I hear Koni's are the way to go, but I got a steal on the Bilsteins $450 for all 4 brand new.

You did all 4? Sounds good. I had a 2001 325i and my shocks and springs were still ok at 70K miles when I sold it. The 1/2" lower ride height must look pretty darn good.

Here are some pics.

The springs were fine, but the rear shock mounts were done. Compared to the Bilsteins, the shocks were toast, but yea I could have gone quite a bit longer. It's tough to tell they are not performing until you upgrade. I drive it pretty hard, nothing crazy but I put her through her paces.

My Dad has a 2006 490hp vette for the really fast stuff. :getdown
