I've read some reviews on here but I'm still undecided.. so hell let's start another thread :)



Why would I want to use one over my sheepskin mitt?



The car is a new so the paint is basically perfect and grit guards and the sheepskin mitts seem to be keeping it that way, but it's always nice to try new things if there is a benefit.

You might want to check out Autogeek. They were running a promotion on the Schmitt. They had a sale on a combo of the wheel and body Schmitt I believe.

SEARCH is your friend Paul. People who have used the ShMitt have posted over and over and over and over and over the advantages of the ShMitt over a sheepskin mitt. You can also read up about the product on the company's website, EdgePads.com. As they used to say on the X-Files . . . the truth is out there!

Already done that and if you discount Justin I don't see many reviews/users hence the question.
 
I bought the wheels Shmitt and the only thing that bugs be is that I didn't buy it earlier. Cleaning my wheels and tires is soo easy and quick. I just ordered the wash Shmitt for the body of the car, I really hope it works out well.

I can say I've posted on here multiple times about why I like the ShMitt. There may not be entire threads devoted to a review (other than Justin's) but there are plenty of posts about the merits of the ShMItt.



Anyway, I wouldn't discount Justin's opinions because he's spot on. The ShMitt is a great product and if you buy one you'll never go back to sheepskin. ;)
 
I thought the Schmitt was autogeek forum hype, I just dont see where the dirt goes! But the hype is bleeding over to autopia, and with a comment like "you wont go back to sheepskin" im listening.
 
I love the ShMitt. I've used it and the other ones over 300 times over the last couple of months. They stand up, they are cost effective, and they DO NOT scratch or marr the paints surface. They should be only used for conventional washing.



Oh yeah, one more thing. I have not dropped one......EVER! It will not fall off your hand. It also saves me so much wash water since it holds everything.



You just have to really try one to find out.

I have almost all the ShMitts now. I just ordered the black wheel ShMitt and then I'll have the whole set. :2thumbs:



I really got tired of the care required to keep a sheepskin mitt at its best. The ShMitt is foam so it stays at its best with zero added effort. I've used mine many times and I've never had to wash it to maintain its effectiveness as you would with a sheepskin.

How easy is it to use with the 2 bucket method? I normal push out the dirt and stuff while rinseing my sheapskin in the rise bucket. Is this possible with the ShMitt?

I find my ShMitt releases dirt into the rinse bucket even better than my sheepskin. Sometimes dirt particles IME get tangled up in the hairs. So, they are not released. But there are no hairs with a ShMitt.

I have to say even with just a couple of cars I do find mitts a pain to wash and dry, my concern with the ShMITT is purely to do with if it can marr/scratch/swirl paint if used properly i.e. 2 buckets with grit guards which I already have.
 
I always wash all of my mitts after washing a car. What do you do to the schmiit after useing it? What is the best way to wash and dry it for use with the next car? Also does it ever clog up with dirt like sheapskins? I usually go throw several sheapskins on a car depending on how dirty they are. So do you need multiple Schmitts for a car? Thanks.

Good questions! After I use my ShMitt, I rinse it with some water, ring it out, and set it aside to dry. There's no need to ever run the ShMitt through the washing machine because it rinses out so cleanly. The ShMitt will get dirt in the pores of the foam, but a quick dip in your rinse bucket will clear it all out. So, the ShMitt doesn't clog up either. The ShMitt rinses out so well you could use the same ShMitt on the whole car, but I use two anyway but I would say it's more out of habit than need.
