Well, I sent a PM to Aaron a couple of months back inquiring as to whether or not the "palm adapter" and 4" pads would be coming to market. In responding to my inquiry, Aaron made the gracious and generous offer to send me a prototype of the "palm adapter." In return, all he wanted was an honest review. So here it is . . .
First, I just want to apologize because I've had this prototype for at least a month and just hadn't had a chance to review it. Sorry Aaron! Now on to the review.
The prototype worked great! The rubber handle is extremely comfortable to hold. Plus, it allowed me to use my E2K pads in situations where I might normally have used a different type of applicator.
I first used the prototype with a 6" orange Edge 2000 pad to do some spot polishing. It clicked into place and was automatically centered just like with any Edge 2000 adapter. The orange foam did a much better job providing some cutting power compared to a towel or foam applicator which is my normal polish vehicle for spot polishing. Using a 6" pad was a little akward for this though. There was a lot of drag due to the size of the pad which taxed my arm. I'm sure this would be much easier with 4" pads.
Next, I used the adapter with a 6" white Edge 2000 pad to spread DP Premium Surface Shield sealant on the car. The white pad made it easy to spread an even coat of the sealant on the paint. Plus, the larger pad size in this case was a boon because it allowed me to cover more surface area faster.
Overall, I found the prototype adapter quite useful and easy to use. Rather than break out my PC for spot polishing I can just use the hand adapter. IMO the adapter would become more versatile with the addition of 4" pads to the E2K lineup.
