early 90s passat

my friend got an early 90s passat (forgot the exact yr) and it needs some minor work, nothing serious. I was thinking:

clay, #9, VM, s100 and some 303 for the interior.





what's the paint on the early 90s VWs?
 
dang, you guys are no fun :). Just wondering if anyone knows if the paint (dark gray) is clearcoat and if there are any "surprises" I should be aware of on them older VWs (trim, windows,etc) . :bounce <= wohoo, this smilie is my favorite
 
I'm not sure of the type of paint (whether it is clearcoated or not) on the early 90 VWs. I have a 99 and I know it is clearcoated.



If you don't get a response here I'd suggest going to www.vwvortex.com and posting in the section relative to the model you are talking about. Lots of knowledgeable VW owners there. :)
