Eagle One 20/20....the mystery

Some people claim that 20/20 repels water like RainX and some say they don't notice anything at all. Ive been using 20/20 for a month and I never used any window treatments on my windshield. Well for me it does seem to repel water like RainX but not as much. However, it is enough to make it easier for the wipers to clean the windshield and I definitely noticed a difference.

Ive used Stoners and Wurth glass cleaners and I think 20/20 is the best of the 3..Stoners is a very close 2nd. The Wurth was OK..nothing special.

Besides you can't beat the price of 20/20:D

I was in a local auto store today and had the EO 20/20 glass cleaner in my hand but opted not to buy it today. The reasoning I used was I will use H20 and a MF towel to clean my windows.

Is the EO 20/20 actually that good? I know the $4 price makes it a lot more attractive compare to the other brands mentioned here. Will I notice a difference between using the EO 20/20 and just plain H20?

Thank you,

RP

PS. I almost purchased the Eagle One Conquors Tire Shine Dressing ($6.99). Is this good too? How does it compare to 303?:nixweiss

I like it because it cleans very well and does not streak at all..especially when using a MF towel...which is what I use. I think the Stoner's will streak a little more than 20/20 but not enough to really matter...they are both great. But the 20/20 seems to repel the water while the Stoner's doesn't. If your windows are clean to begin with then the h20 and MF should be fine.

Thank you,

Im using it now as well as Vinylex..Ive never uses 303 but Im sure its just as good!!

I've tried Stoners vs EO 20/20 and I prefer EO. It is the fastest and easiest product to work with on windows that I have come across. :xyxthumbs

Cant make my mind up

In an earlier post I said I was going to try EO 20/20 glass cleaner and that I was using Stoners IG. Well I have gone back and fourth and I came up with this=

Stoners IG

A little more expensive than EO

When buffed off properly and completely virtually streak free

Takes quite a bit of elbow grease to buff out

EO 20/20 glass cleaner

Cheaper

Very easy to buff off

Also notice it leaves alot more streaks than IG

I really dont clean my inside windows often just wipe them down with a dry towel to get dust off. We all know how much of a pain it can be when cleaning the inside rear window and the lower part of the winshield, this is where EO's easy buffing comes in handy but I hate streaks so much so there you have it cant decide? My next choice will be between choosing car washes, Meguiars Gold Class wash= a great and well priced shampoo but cannot stand the perfume smell. Im leaning towards P21S body conditioning shampoo, is very gentle leaves the paint very smooth great smell but hate having to mail order it.

I asked a question similar to this a while back and (like always) "E36 M Sedan", the Eagle One rep replied to the thread. You can find it At This Link.

BTW is 20/20 sold by the gallon? I was at a local detail place that had E1 stuff by the gallon but they did not have 20 / 20. It would probably be a great thing to buy cheap by the gallon. Joseph (E1 Rep), thanks in advance for replying :D

Chris, normally after I spray IG on the window, I wipe the area 3 times and by the 3rd time it's almost dried, then I turn the towel and hit the same area 2 more times and it would be completely dried (3 if I'm doing it at night). Do you have to do more strokes to buff out?

BTW - I'm using MF on windows.

You guys have raised a very interesting point. I agree that window cleaner is just like wax- it must be buffed out in order to work effectively. This is why I use a high quality (and it must be high quality, others do not work) cotton T-Shirt with Stoner's. The T-Shirt is no better than any other method in terms of the initial wipe. Where it really excels, though, is in the buffing stage. It completely removes all of the residue.

Thank you for bringing up the buffing issue!

If you use EO with a high quality MF, all you need do is wipe off the window. It virtually eliminates the need to buff. It literally takes 10 seconds for me to do the windshield. With Stoners, I found the fastest method to be with crumpled newspaper and I had to re-do it at least once and then buff with a MF and there still was occasional streaking.

Heh, it seems this is one of the most talked about product we have. I think I answered this on here before, but for anyone that didn't see it, and the fact that it was asked again in this thread - here ya go.

20/20 was not formulated to add anny water repeling properties. However, we have had enough calls to pay attention to the fact that sometimes, it does seem to add this quality. My opinion, as well as some of the other people here, is that maybe the windows were not as clean as originally thought and when cleaning with 20/20, some sort of residue, grease, etc is removed. This would make it appear to have water repleling properties because the window is now clean.

As for it being sold by the gallon I wish we did offer this, but the fact is that we currently only offer it in 26 oz sizes to the retail market.

You mentioned you saw some of our products in gallon form. Can I ask where you saw them and which products? We have not had any containers that size for awhile in our retail line and am curious if it was left over in someone wharehouse or if you stumbled upon one of our distriutors. Our professional line does have larger sizes, but these are usually only available through wholsesale distributors that supply professional detailers. Ummm, I think thats it,

Happy Detailing

Joe
