Stemming from another thread on here a few months back, I sent an e-mail following up that SMR and FI-II (Machine Polish) have the same cut of 25, only difference is the finish on SMR is 2 and FI-II is 4.

Finally a week later I got a reply back from one of the people at 3M. It is as follows:

Anthony, you must forgive me, but what is SMR ? Please let me know and I would be glad to help you .

What is SMR? The people at 3M don't call swirl mark remover SMR? I figured it was a very widely used term.

So I sent a reply back and hopefully this person will beable to help me (us).

LOL actually, no they don't! :D

Its full name is 3M Perfect-It Foam Polishing Pad Glaze Swirl Mark Remover. Part numbers 39009 (dark) or 39109 (light). Since typing out even "swirl mark remover" a whole bunch of times gets old, SMR was logically born.

Don't try asking Meguiar's or a store for "DACP" either! :doh

Good luck!

I mean still, anyone can figure out SMR means Swirl Mark Remover! :D

And when you call your product "3M perfect it foam polishing pad glaze swirl mark remover for dark colored cars" who the hell is going to say that all the time!

So in closing, this is their own fault. :p

4 Door Sports Car gets pretty long after a while too, doesn't it? Oh how I miss my two previous Maxima's. ;)

I found this one out the hard way. I went to Sherwin Williams and ask the clerk if he had any DACP. He said no.... so I looked around and found it.
