You may remember when I detailed this durango last November. Just a few weeks short of 5 months and the zaino was dead. The durango sits outside at night and has made a few trips to Canada over the winter. The owner should be sending me a pic from a few months back of salt covering it all the way up to the windows. :scared:

EDIT

Here are the pics from about the 3rd week of Feb.

She had a few swirls:

Got out the PC, IP and a orange excel pad. I did two slow passes at 6 with alot of pressure on a section of the hood. As usual I could not get all the swirls out, maybe 50%. So I got out the hitachi and a 3M foam waffle pad @ 1500. I was able to get out 90% of the swirls this way.

Process:

Wash

Clay w/ #49 as a lube

IP-Rotary w/ Foam waffle pad @ 1500.

IP- PC orange excel pad @ 6

FPII-PC Green excel pad @ 6

Prime-PC Blue excel pad @ 3.5

AJ-foam pad by hand, work in one section at a time then remove with MF.

AJ-spray work in with MF, then remove w/ another MF.

Tires- Z18

Prime comments-This is the third time that I have used Prime. I did not work it in enough with the PC. The heavier white spots where harder to wipe clean. So make sure you work that prime in real good with the PC.

The running boards and rear step are shot. I tired PB TR and it had no effect on them.

After FPII:

Thanks Hines! Menzerna are the only polishes I have ever used. :2thumbs:

Oh yeah, I remember that thread. I thought that car looked familiar! Great details on both cars. Nice work.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! :woohoo:

That durango looks awesome. Which look do you favor on that car....Zaino or AJ?

Hard to say.....

The above pics have no QD applied. Owner will apply some Z8 to the AJ soon.

Here is a pic of the durango 6 weeks after Zaino was applied. Z8 was applied just before these pics.

Very nice work! Very time consuming too.

Hard to tell which is better, Z2 or JW based on the pics because of the lighting. Both are excellent products though. ;)

Awesome work!

The running boards are fairly easy to remove. They sould just be clipped on and pop right off.

A can of black semi gloss spray paint and there good as new.

Once again AWESOME!

Looks great!

How long were you working the swirled sections with the 3M pad at 1500 (eeek!) RPMS? I mean, did the hood take an hour like it did on the Acura or were you moving through this one quicker at that speed?

If I would of started with the 3M pad, I think it would of taken less then an hour. I hope so at least. 1500 was no big deal, I was working bigger areas so the paint was not getting that hot at all.
