Duraglos 105 or 111

I'm nearly out of my supply of Duragloss 105 and was wondering what everyone's experience is with their 111? How does it compare to the 105? What are the real differences, if any?

I've used both quite a bit. IME, 105 is more akin to an all in one, with some light protection built in. A lot like klasse all in one, poli seal, etc. It's super easy to use, cleans up light water spots, etc, but doesn't last long. 111 is a straight up sealant, much more durable, no cleaning power.

editted; numbers mixed up.

I think you have that backwards. 111 is the true sealant and 105 is the one with cleaners.

According to Dr Bailey at Duragloss:

111 = pure sealant rated 1 on cleaning ability

101 = rated about 4-5 on cleaning ability

105 = rated about 9-10 on cleaning ability

OK, so should I be using both?

Right now My regular routine looks like this:

1. wash with ONR

2. apply AW

Then 2 to 3x year

1. wash with ONR

2. apply 501

3. apply 105

4. finish with AW

So far that has kept my cars looking great without a lot of work. Will I get similar results replacing 501 with 105 then use 111 then AW?

Where does 501 rank in here? I hear it cleans better than 105.

Sometimes what the DG brothers say really contradicts real life. IMO, DG101 is a better cleaner than 105, and really a better looker. In fact it is a near clone of my fav AIO, ZAIO. 105 seems to be in between and I'm not a huge fan of the looks. To me its pretty clear, if you want a great cleaner and decent protection, go with 501. If you want something perfect for a DD that is parked outdoors, 101. If you want a pure sealant, 111, its nearly identical to the old Z2 (no pro). It has that plastic like look, and I personally really dig it. There will be no questions about if you have something on your paint or not.

I did some cleaner wax tests last year, check out the thread:

http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-de...how-do-they-stack-up-paint-cleaning-dept.html . You'll be able to clearly see the applicator for the DG101 is much dirtier than the DG105.

105 gives a more warm look that attempts to mimick a nuba.

111 gives straight up sealant bling.

My car is a DD but is in the garage when it's not being driven. What combination will work the best assuming I want the best "overall" look while still having great protection? It sounds like 501 followed by 111 if I want a "sealant" look or 501 followed by 105 if I want a deeper look.

Is AW fine to put over those combinations?

If you are using 105, just do two coats of that. It has enough cleaners to keep a garaged car looking great. 501 and 111 wouldn't be a bad combo. AW is fine on top of those (and most anything actually).

I think that if they were side by side, no one posting in this thread could tell which was which. All these adjectives to describe how an LSP looks...."warm, blingy, deep, soft"...........hell.....they all look the same to me. The prep is what creates the look IMO. All the vivid descriptions, as if the LSP was a damn dessert or something, if all just hype lol.

Now gonna put my flame suit on, but I think many can agree. With that said, I like my 105!

Lots of folks can't tell between box wine and a good bottle or a McDonald's Burger or gourmet. DG111 has such distinctive looks you'd have to be pretty clueless to miss.
