Durability

Which waxes have the reputation as being long lasting and durable? I'm not asking what the manufacters say but what the word is in here. In these Iowa winters I need something that will last from fall to spring. Thanks.

Zaino and Klasse are regarded as the most durable products out there. Collinite also has an excellent reputation for durability.

Try some searches on the above names and see what comes up.

Yep, what Scott P said :xyxthumbs . I haven't used Zaino, but multiple layers of Klasse SG will last for MANY months (I can get nearly a year on some cars) and Collinite lasts VERY long for a natural wax.

Well I just ordered Klasse SG, I've tried Zaino before and thought I'd give this a whirl to compare. Found it on sale in a kit with the preconditioner. I'll let you know how it works in a few weeks.

After you applied the Klasse then go over it with a carnuba, how do you go about reapplying Klasse the next time? Do you have to strip everything off?

Wax, regardless of the brand, won't last 3 months. The Klasse 'twins' will. For my cars, I reapply something like P21S once a month.

Every 6 months the cars get a *complete* detail. That begins with ValuGard's ABC to strip everything.

Start from scratch...

Hope this helps...

If you want to stick with carnuba waxes, then Collinite is practically indestructible.

Other polymer possibilities besides Klasse and Zainos are Car Polishes Final Polish and Winner's Choice Polymer Finishing Creme. I've had good luck with both so far. I've been using Final Polish long enough to know it definitely lasts beyond 3 months and the WC Finishing Creme is looking pretty good after two months.
