I was given a set of golf clubs today.

When I was putting them in the back seat of my car I saw the bottom of the bag hit the side of my car a bit. I prayed there was no mark but it was dark.

I get home and I see like a 2 inch scuff mark on my black paint. Not real noticable except for somebody analretentive about their car like me. I tried some aio quickly but its still there. Tried some rubbing compound gently (i hate that stuff) but I still see a bit. The bottom of the bag is all black plastic.

What should I do or try next? Would rubbing alcohol help? Is that bad for the paint?

Any ideas? Please help. My car is far from perfect but I can kick myself for not being more careful

Thanks in advance.

Once again my paint is black.

I wont have pics for a while. I dont think scractx would do if rubbing compund didnt. Its sort of a smudge. I better wait till daylight to view it better. would rubbing alcohol hurt it?

Definately wait until you can see it in proper lighting, if you haven't gone thorugh the clear coat you should be able to repair it with progressively finer compounds.

When you can see it well, a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol, on a MF won't do any harm. Allow it to dwell, then rub. Repeat.

Good Luck.
