I was in a hurry and spraid some simple green on my rims. Now they have a crappy dull look, WHat can make it look shiney again, I have aluminum rims.

Full strength Simple Green is some pretty strong stuff.......

I would start by using some good Aluminum polish. I use Mother's or Nevr-Dull.

It will take a lot of working into the metal. When your terry-towel tuns black, you should see a big difference in the wheels.

I never use any chemicals on my wheels. Just warm soapy water. (car wash soap).

Good luck.

Flaker12,

Unless you have some unusual wheels, you most likely have clearcoat on that aluminum. The Mother's polish I have isn't made specifically for clearcoat and unless your's is, don't use it. Treat your wheels like you treat the paint on your car. First, make sure they are washed nice and clean. Then, if you have some older clay around, clay them (you'll never want to use this piece of clay on your car again, so go ahead and throw it away as a safeguard when you are done). Next, grab your favorit paint polish and get those puppies to sparkle. Final step(s) are to either use your sealant or wax, whatever your normally use for your car. Naturally, you should check your progress at the end of each step. Better to progress slowly than to use a product that is too strong and that could damage the surface coating (assuming there is one - and it sounds like there is) of your wheels.

Best of luck to you!
