So I've finally had it with not being able to get the shots I want. Point and shoot out, DSLR in. Problem is, I've got some learning to do. My main goal for this set up is to capture imperfection, 50/50 shots, and of course the best shots possible of the finished product. I picked up a Nikon D3100 which includes the std 18-55mm lens. The upgraded 55-200mm zoom lens was included at a very attractive price, so I picked that up as well.
I guess my question is, for those of you who use and are proficient with such devices, what are your preferred lenses? Someone recommended a macro lens for close up shots of paint imperfections, but that's about as far as I've gotten.
