With regard to paint protectants (waxes/sealants), I sometimes get confused as to the proper meaning of the terms dry, bond, and cure time. Maybe the terms have different meaning for different products?
I think of the drying phase as the formation of a haze or the time needed to avoid streaking/smearing when the wax/sealant is removed.
Bonding and curing...not quite so sure here. Seems these might be interchangeable terms....the time required before applying an additional coat?
I noticed on the NXT wax instructions that Meguiar's says to let it "cure" for 10-15 minutes and then remove. I assume a second coat could then be applied immediately?? This would mean that drying and curing are one in the same for this particular product?
Bonding may have to do with the use of different products and if they will work okay one on top of the other?
Just looking for some comments...particularly the difference between bonding and curing. What is an example of products being incompatible as far as bonding?
Thanks.
