Dropped my Bug...

This is my 73 VW. It has been a "budget build". Yesterday I decided to put a 2.5" drop on it. It took me about 6 hours, with 2 helpers.

Very VERY Cool Car!!! I detailed a Beetle while back that was just purchased Jerry Sienfeld. I love the old Beetles!

Looks good David! I knew you mentioned you just dropped it, but it looks perfect in person. They should have come that way originally.

Thanks guys...

Just a rundown on what has been done to it:

Interior - new headliner, interior repainted, front seats reupholstered (backs were fine), new radio, carpets got a good cleaning, and all the missing buttons and dials were replaced.

Exterior - new paint, new chrome, wheels beadblasted and painted to match the car, bumpers replaced with "t-bars", the eyelids, chrome fender guards added, running boards replaced, and ALL the rubber on the car was replaced.

Mechanical - new gas tank, new carb, new master cylinder and brake lines, new starter, new distributor, new alternator, new shocks on all corners, front spindles replaced with drop spindles to lower the car, for the rear suspension (IRS) the torsion bar was turned 10 degrees to achieve the 2.5" drop.

I believe that's all. I have done most of the work myself, or have traded services (details) for labor and parts on the stuff I couldn't do, so I can sell that car for a pretty good profit!!!

Some how, some way those interior shots escaped my attention.:o

Thanks for taking the time to get them posted. Nice and clean, just how I like 'em. Congratulations, I'm sure you draw a crowd whenever you stop.
