Driving Gloves anyone????

When I saw this stering wheel I thought for sure the dye was coming off the leather, as you can see in the pic. I started to scrub it a little and to my suprise it started coming off. Most people don't wash their hands every time they get into their car, and our hands have oils and other foreign particles that effect leather. It took me an hour to clean this one. I tell people to clean them couple of times a month, or wear driving gloves. Gary

Just FYI, those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work great on steering wheels. :up

yes they do. Use them with the woolite/water mix and you'll be able to clean up most leather and vinyl :up

Thats nasty, but you should see some of the ones that roll through my shop (oil changing shop), so disgusting that you dont want to touch it with gloves on! Great job on the cleaning.

Gary...I find that the Cadillac wheels are worse than any other. My Uncle's Eldo was lookin the same way your picture was. Same result...It all came clean in the end and he was shocked. I agree that periodic cleaning and care will help out!

Agreed; It's gotta have something to do with the type of leather they use, or perhaps just the light colors they choose. I much prefer the black leather one in my truck -- even if it is dirty, you'd never know it! I clean it often anyway.

Agree with you there...I have Anthracite, (read: dark gray), in my VW, and it would have to be filthy to know it was dirty. Still doesn't stop me from cleaning/conditioning often!
