DP AIO Headlight Restoring Polish

I used the purple foam wool on paint with my first generation Porter Cable 7424 and the wool keep clumping up binding together i tried brushing it out using a toothbrush but did not work and i have a conditioning brush but figure the bristle is to stiff. One thing i'm sure is why it's clumping up to much product, to little product, pressure, too long working time etc. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

is it the thin wool? mine matts down flat after about 1 minute on a pass so I have to brush it out again

the bristles on the dollar store denture brush are much more firm than a toothbrush and I find they work just fine.

you could try to get like a carpet scrubbing brush w/thick bristles and hold it in place and run the PC with dirty pad over the brush (if you can do that safely of course)...ASSUMING just brushing it by hand with a Denture brush doesn't suffice

Yes it's a thin wool. I also have tuf shine tire brush not sure if that will work. The pad conditioning brush seems to stiff don't want to damage them. Can i soak them in OPC or Meguiars D101 or spray them, then scrub and rinse.

you could try that but It wouldn't work 'on the fly' as they'd have to dry out..i saw in the past a foam wool cleaning tool that has a spur on the end...might look into that

once im done,. I spary mine with Blackfire Pad Cleaner , let sit for 5 mins then scrub with denture brush and rinse..they come squeaky clean every time

FWIW, I scrub the living crap out of mine with the denture brush and you will lose a little bit of thin wool here and there but its nothing major- its more like shedding it seems

I look for a denture brush online like the one in your picture, now i'm going to look for one local now that i know what they look like. I guess as far as the clumping goes I'm going to play with them to see what causes it since it was my first time using them. Thanks for the replies!

No problem. I get that white one at the dollar tree. Any dollar store or similar would have something similar id imagine.

Make sure you are applying a thin line or thin circle on pad. I do the smiley face for fun.
And spread it around the headlight evenly before polishing. Maybe that will help with your clumping.

I don't know why the wool fiber clump up or bind up together and the toothbrush won't brush it out don't matter how hard you try hopefully that denture brush will work better. Thanks for the reply!

I don't know, i use the same type denture brushes on rupes foam, rupes microfiber, Hydrotech foam pads, and the thin foam wool pads.
I have never had any issues.

I thought that was normal.
I've never tried using a toothbrush.

The soft bristle is design to gentle so not to much on scrubbing/cleaning. The one that you posted should be much effective at cleaning just have to find one local now.
