Door handles and outside mirrors

Looking for a product that will restore the black color of the door handles and back of the mirrors on my pickup. The material looks similar to vinyl mat finish. The finish looks gray and chaulky. Not looking for a plastic look, just a clean new look. Products I have tried so far wash off quickly and run down the door. Tried vinyl cleaner and tire dressing with no success. Any ideas???????

Thanks,

Jay

Never Enuff- On my Blazer (and also some such areas on the Yukon that replaced it), I used 1Z brand polishes topped with Collinite 845. I know, it sounds weird but it worked great. You might also try Klasse AIO.

The above approaches don't always work, but when they do they work very well.

I'll have to admit it does sound a little strange. I'm just tired of working by butt off cleaning the truck and then looking a the chaulky gray looking door handles and the back of the outside rear view mirrors. I've tried Simple Green, vinyl cleaner, tire black, etc etc and nothing seems to work very well. Any type of dressing I put on always runs down the door when it rains. I'm ready to see if a body shop will paint them the same color as the truck---

Yeah, that's a big part of why I started LSPing mine whenever it'd work. Painting them might be problematic as paint doesn't always adhere to those kind of plastics all that well.

I just got done putting some VM to some faded black trim and it looked nice.

I cant say anything about its durability yet though.

i use this stuff called black again, i'm sorry i forgot where i purchased it, maybe if you google it, it's clear and thick like honey but it works very well and stays for a long time. just my 2 cents. hope this helps.

Black Wow lasts a very long time, give it a little research time.

Also, Leatherique makes an actual black trim dye. Never used it personally but have read a few positive reviews, no negatives.

VM???? Sorry--

VM= Vanilla Moose (glaze).

Yeah, it's nice but doesn't last long IME. You could always top it with some non-staining wax like 845 or Souveran (IIRC I've used VM/Souveran on the Jag's trim a few times).

I just read about the "Black Again". I think I might give that a try. I'll let you know how it works.

Thanks everyone for the information

Jay

Black again is crap. Dosen't work anywhere near as advertised and dosen't last very long when you can get it to work. So far Black Wow is the best products I've personally come across for this issue. I've seen a few other products look just as good as BW but I've never seen a product last anywhere near as long as BW does. (put it on over a year ago and it still looks just as good as the day I did it)
