Don't Hate, Consolidate....

There was a thread on this earlier this month. You can use a tool box available at Walmart for a few bucks to carry and protect your PC. The one I have is really good quality...cost $12.00 Canadian which is about $1.50 US....he..he.

The one I got is about 20 inches long and holds the PC and pad but I remove the handle.

There is a case specifically made for the PC, but I have yet to see it sold separately. Groits sells the PC as a kit which comes with the case. Dunno if they would sell the case alone.

My PC came with a substantial metal carrying case. I was told that the cost is $60 (I recall) if purchased separately.

Some have suggested that Home Depot sells generic plastic carrying cases that would work well for the PC...

I picked up a nylon tool bag from the local hardware chain. I think it was $12 more than enough room for my pc and the pads.

I got one of the plastic tool boxes and found some blocks of styrofoam at a craft store and made it a custom carrying case. Works great except my wife gets mad at me when I take it along on vacations, etc. You can never tell when somebody will need an emergency buffing. LOL, my wife just doesn't understand my detailing addiction, keeps insisting that I buff-up the dishes in the sink after meals. Guess I'll have to get the "Fine China" pad for my PC from CMA.

In gearing up for winter details I once again consolidated and re-organized all of my products. I do this every few months as I try new products and get rid of ones I no longer use.

If you have tons of space and a place to story every product you own then by all means keep everything on hand. For someone like me who has limited space in the garage to keep all my products around all the time, I like to store things in my basement instead.

Couple things:

-Only keep on hand what you need and use most often

-Get rid of products that are for special uses or rarely ever get used (gum removers, carpet extractor solution, that 17th bottle of quick detail spray you got free in an order from that online store)

-Organize your products into sections, LSPs, polishes, washes. Everything for me has a designated space.

-I also like to look at all my products when Im in the "Nothing F'ing works on this paint!!!" mood so I can see exactly what I have and if I can conjure up some combo to work.

Simply put as an example. If you own 18 different LSP's and you only ever use the same 2 because they look best/protect best or whatever, then put the other 16 LSP's away for safe keeping, you can always take a quick trip down to your basement to find a product you want to use again. You just dont have to have them on the self or in the cabinet at all times.

I found for me this helps to keep my workspace clean and easy to organize.

Great tips. Whenever I have any downtime I like to top off all my mixed chemical spray bottles and re-label them. I also like to wipe down all my bottles reorganize my bins as I am mobile right now.

I'm dying for a garage!

I wish I could be that organized. My garage is is full with junk, so I barely have enough room for anything, and my basement is the same way. One of these days, I will get tired of living like this, and clean house!!

Thanks for the tips Dave!!

I have a fair amount of products I never use, and most are pretty full. I almost feel like throwing them away. I could store them, but I'd rather just toss them. Call me crazy..lol. I only like having on the shelf what I could potentially use.

I keep all my products in the house. When I'm working in the garage I have a big container I place everything I need in and take it out there. I would love to have it in th garage but the temp in summer worries me it will affect my products.

I also like to keep everything in one place. Thats just me though.

I keep all my products in the garage year round and yet to have a problem with any of them .
