Disclaimer: This post is pretty long, and has lots of pics. I know some people like to skip text so if you have any questions, go back and check the text before asking :)

For starters, here's how it looked when I first got it. I'm putting these up here so you have a chance to read about what I've done, then see what my Jeep looks like today.

I had an empty day today and we've got close to a week of clear weather so I decided to take today and clean up my Jeep. I've worked on it here and there, mainly spending time prepping the paint. I spent 4+ hours total (at random times) claying it, hitting it with lacquer thinner, scrubbing the hard top to make a smooth surface, all that before I could start polishing everything out. I've also polished it on some days as well, hitting it with a wool pad, light cut, finishing, all that stuff. Also since I've owned it (October) I've hit the wells, most of the under carraige with undercoating and flat black paint. Interior has been totally stripped and cleaned, I've neglected it for a few weeks, it just needs a quick cleaning but I didn't have time for it after driving around taking pics :notme: So sorry no pics of the interior today, but they'll come

So far I've added a Rough Country 4" lift, 33X12.50 BFG Mud Terrains on 15X10 Rock Crawler wheels, and Rubicon Express 5" shackles that gave me about 5/8"+ more lift. The ride quality of with the new lift and shackles in amazing, you know what bumps are there when you're on a bumpy road but it's a big improvement over stock suspension. On the highway it really shines, it's incredibly smooth and drives extremely straight and true. Even with the smaller 2.5ltr 4 cyl. pushing those 33's I can still put around town just fine and cruise the freeway at 70+ with the stock gearing. I also upgraded the stereo ( 5 1/4's custom cut into the doors, new deck, amp for speakers), seat covers, K&N filter/Airbox mod, a Magnaflow exhaust, and some Hella 550 driving lights (off right now, I'm going to remount them). Now for todays cleaning, I stripped off what was left of the 3 month old coat of Megs #20 on it and started from there...

Paint:
Megs Deep Crystal Wash
Megs Paint Cleaner
Megs Swirl Remover 2.0 via green Edge pad
P&S Ultracoat Wax X1
P&S Par-K Wax X1
P&S Spray-It for final inspection

Wheels/wells/tires:
Simple Green 4:1 on tires/wells, undercarraige, tires/wells scrubbed with tire brush
Wheels hit with soapy water and wash mitt
P&S Par-K Wax X1 in wheels
P&S Wipe N Shine on tires, flares, smaller trim pieces
P&S Shine-All in wells, all over underneath

I'll keep bringing this thread alive as I do more. I've got TONS of drivetrain plans for this in the future, as well as painting the hard top and lots of other stuff.

Dolan

Looks awesome Dolan:rockon . That is one of the cleanest jeeps i have ever seen. You can tell its modded a lil but it all blends together so well its hard to tell, what exactly. Looks killer man :bigups

IMO, that's how they should look coming out of the factory. All of the mods thus far are done with style and good taste. You did a great job on the detail too! You might want to do something about those fender flares though. You don't want them getting in the way of those 33's while they're at work. ;)

Now that's more like it! It seriously doesn't even look like the same Jeep... huge turnaround from the pictures - especially the transformation in a short period of time. Did you do the work yourself? If so, how'd that go?

Thanks, guys

Audiboy- I'll be fixing the flare issue soon enough. I'm going to swap out to the newer style TJ flares, they sit a bit higher and come down at less of an angle giving the tires a lot more room to tuck themselves up. I'm a bit disapointed actually with the front flex, but with the trac-bar unhooked it should do better. And once I have at least a rear locker it will climb much better.

Budman- So far all the work has been done 110% by me, both in my backyard and my garage. Some of the future stuff I plan on doing I can't do on my own, but I'll be right there helping :bigups
