Does anyone in Australia order online from the US?

I am in Australia and am looking to place an order with a US supplier.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Who is a good supplier?

How much is freight?

I'm looking to buy a PC 7224, pads microfibres, as well as some product.

We seem to keep running in to each other.

Here's a few links to start you off. I've bought heaps of gear from David - he's great to do business with and you'll be supporting Autopia.

The shipping David uses is as economical as you'll get from the US, and his pricing is pretty keen.

I've bought and use his MF and Sonus product and they're great. :xyxthumbs

If you put in "ABC" (Autopia Buyers Club) in the coupon field when you order, you get a further 10-15% off the total price.

PC Polisher.

Sonus Pad Kit.

Extra Pads

Microfibre 1.

Microfibre 2.

Sale items.

Hope this helps. :wavey

I have bought from Zaino Bros, Autopia, Pakshak all with no problems, and all with SUPER, SUPER fast shipping.

Good luck

Just be careful with the PC. Remember that we have a different voltage to the US so some funny things can happen.

For example the last one I tried was on a system with a voltage safety trip on it and the PC would set if off and shut down the power about once every 30 seconds.

I wouldn't expect it to last as long either.

Check out some voltage converters. They can cost about $200 for ones suitable for the power consumption of a device like the PC.

Jason has some great stuff over at Autogeek.net and they ship fast. They have a special going on and you get 15% off!!!!!!!!!!!

Alfisti...yeah we do keep running into each other

Atill trying to decide between a cyclo or a PC or some other orbital. Definately will place an order for some product from the US soon though.

Which MFs do you use? I will mainly use them for removing cleaner/polish and wax.

Can you recommend a drying MF? I currently use a plaschamois.

What about a washmit?

What are you doing up at this time of night/morning?? Can't sleep? :D

As you know I use a PC. One reason I settled on a PC rather than Cyclo is that zillions on Autopia use it. Cyclo gets excellent results too, but the resources from the wealth of experience with the PC on Autopia is compelling. Every question can be answered as someone has experienced it before me...that's priceless.

As far as MF go, different MF do different tasks. Even ultra-premium MF aren't necessarily good for certain jobs.

For example, MF for QDing must be very plush, so as to pick up contaminant, spread QD, and not scratch.

Trouble is, they are too plush for removing wax/polish. They just smear it. You need a MF that has some bite/drag on it, but again, won't scratch. (There's always some overlap in what some can do). Get it? ;)

Having said that here is what I use, and what I use it for. These are real quality. I haven't tried all brands, and others will have their faves. But, what I can recommend is what I've used and can guarantee results.

For QDing, and wax removal:

Autopia Carcare Budget quality MF.

These aren't as densely woven as some, but work well, don't scratch, and are quite cheap.

For QDing, and wax removal:

Pakshak Extra high quality blue MF

For QDing and other ultra-plush jobs:

Same as previous (pakshak.com), but extra high quality white Ultra-MF.

Drying:

Pakshak Waffle Weave. You'll laugh at yourself for using a chamois after these towels. I think most WW are much the same, except for size. I also use Autopia Carcare purple WW and found it equivalant to Pakshak's WW, just a bit smaller.

Raney, at Pakshak is a brilliant guy to do business with. So is David from Autopia Carcare. Whomever you deal with from Autopia, your going to get spoilt compared to the apathetic lot we get in Australia! :xyxthumbs

Washmitts:

I use, both, Meguiars spun synthetic washmitt, and sheepskin. Sheepskin is much gentler, but sometimes too gentle on really dirty cars. Then I use the spun synthetic, which is still gentle, but a bit more bite to it to clean better.

Hope this helps. :D

Thanks so much for the help Alfisti. I'm actually in Japan at the moment, so it wasn't that late...hehe.

I really want the PC for the same reasons as you.

Did you have to pay duty/GST in Australia when you improted yours?
