I could'nt vote here, 'cause my practice doesn't fit your options.

When I'm being disciplined and methodical and have plenty of time, I do the interior first -- cause I HATE doin' it (the exterior is so much more rewarding). But when I'm being self-indulgent or when I'm in a hurry, I start with the exterior, 'cause it gives me more "bang for my buck."

Sometimes I think the most difficult thing is figuring when to do the door jambs. I will do them most of the time after I clean the tires then I move to the interior and complete it b/c of the time it takes.

Well as a shop owner, we always do the interior first especially if we need to shampoo the upholstery since it'll take time to dry. Then with 2 or more people working on the exterior, it doesn't really take that long so we get things done more efficiently.

I always start off by washing the exterior. Then I detail the interior, then the exterior. I guess I would call that interior first, even though I wash the exterior first.

What if you have to clay? Would you wash the ext. first then clay then wash and then do the interior?

When you work the exterior what order do you go in?

wash/clay/dry, then on to the inside, but then again, i have to be disciplined to do that....Im more like Lynn, outside first, I like to watch it come together, its motivating....I hate interiors !!!!

I completely clean the interior first, then wash/polish/wax, clean all the windows inside and out, and then dress the interior, trim and tires.

I do it from out to in to out, meaning exterior wash (wheels, tires, wheelwells included) -> door jamb wash -> interior vacuum and detail -> doorjamb detail -> exterior detail.

~One man’s opinion /observations~

I wash/dry, apply dressing to the exterior trim and tires, bring it inside then completely clean the interior first, then clay or pre-wax/polish/wax, clean /polish the glass, apply dressing to the interior.

If I don’t have access to a garage then as per Scottwax/ajbarnes
