Do You Wax Your Headlights

I just purchased a 2002 Toyota Highlander. This is the first time I've had wood (fake) trim. What is the best way to maintain the trim? My first thought is a soft, damp towel and also be sure not to get and dressing on it.

Any comments appreciated!

Actually, it's best to treat this much as you would paint. Simply clean with soap and water and wax or better yet, a quick detailer spray. It will keep in in perfect shape.

I put AIO and SG on mine. Like to use EO1 WetnWipe weekly. Feels nice and slick, very shiney.

I have it in my 95 Lexus so there were some minor swirls already. You might want to skip the AIO to ensure no abrasive (although very mild) action.

my fakey stuff does and i treat it like the above doods have said....i clean it with a nice Mf...saop and water...but once a mth i put some Plexus on it to protect it...but this is noly cool if you got the acrylic covering...it cleans up so easy then

Just be careful. Plastic scratches a lot easier than clear coat. Any type of wax or sealant you use on your paint will work on the plastic wood trim.

Not sure about waxing them, but I would put a sealant on them if they are plastic to make them last longer.

I used to use wax until I read in my toyota manual that wax may damage headlights and NOT to wax them . It probably takes years to do damage but still......

i use Klassee sealant on them for now. i also have some Zaino 2 im looking to get rid of and will use that also (has a uv protector)

I use Klasse AIO. It will seal them and take off any oxidation if the car is older. You can then put another sealer over the AIO and the lenses will be good for the winter. Hope this helps.

Most plastic headlights nowadays are clear-coated. Wax or sealant can't hurt, and IMHO help significantly. I've been sealing/waxing headlights and tail lights on my cars for years. None have suffered for it; and, my headlights have always been clear. I have a 15 year old BMW (with plastic headlights) that are clear as day; but, I've had to re-finish my son's BMW's headlights (same year as mine) as well as my wife's BMW's headlights (5 years newer), none of which were ever waxed or sealed, because they were so clouded.
