Do you give your customers somethign to tell them how to maintain their cars...?

I am thinking that after we detail a car we could give them a sheet that tells them how to take care of their rides between details...

Like, hand wash it, use car soap not dish soap, stay away from automatic car washes that use brushes or makes contact with your car, and so on.

I give every customer a booklet, it works good, and they usually appreciate it. I haven't had many customers recently though:(

I give my customers a 2-page handout that lists the major steps in keeping the car in good shape.

wash

dusting

QD

glass

polish/clean

wax/seal

interior surfaces

interior carpet

I try to keep the text explanations for each major subject short. Two paragraphs at most. Then, after the text, I have two side by side product lists. Left side is locally available products. Right side is products I recommend (sometimes locally available, sometimes not.)

Someone at some point asked if I think I lose business by giving them this info. IMHO, it's the opposite. I've had new customers say they saw my handout from a friend and decided to have me do their car based on it. Sharing info is never a bad thing, IMHO. :D

I fully agree with you maecrispy. Friends will show off their car to others and show the cool info packet you gave them. Definetly a good advertisement.
